Getting ready for Andrew...

I've been trying to complete all the little projects before Mr. Andrew makes his grand debut. I just made this taggie blanket. I've seen tons of babies go crazy over these things. I think that it's just so tactile that they love it. I had a fun time making it.



Here are some friends that I could attach to the blanket with those plastic baby rings. I thought that it would be a good idea to have a few quiet toys for church...

I personally like the stegosaurus. I think he's cute.

I also made a mobile to go over the crib. I'll have to post some pictures of that later - I am so happy with the way it turned out!! Things are starting to come together!!

Baby Andrew

I have to show and tell. This is from our Ultrasound 2 weeks ago. The ultrasound tech was really nice. She was really able to see is face so well that she secretly gave us a 3-D ultrasound (for free!) because she said, "I just couldn't pass it up, he was looking right at you." Oh he's so cute. I can't wait to hold him!

I love those chubby cheeks! He's covering up one of his eyes.... oh what a cutie.

YUMMY RECIPE!!!

One of my favorite things on Sunday are Crockpots! I love throwing stuff in before church (since it's at 1pm) and when we get home - dinner's ready!!! This is what we made today and OH was it GOOD!!!

"Baked" Potato Soup
3 3/4 lbs. Russet Potatoes, peeled & chopped into 1/2 inch cubes
1 1/2 C. chopped onion
3 (14 oz) cans chicken broth with roasted garlic
1/4 butter
2 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. pepper
1 C. whipping cream
1 C. shredded cheddar cheese

1. Combine first 6 ingredients in crock pot. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 8 hours. (Make sure you have a BIG crockpot, mine is a 5 or 6 quart, and it was plenty big).
2. Mash mixture until potatoes are coarsely chopped and soup is slightly thickened. Stir in cream and cheese.
3. Top with cheese and sour cream if desired.

I couldn't find the chicken broth with garlic, so I just put in regular chicken broth and I threw in some minced garlic I had in the fridge. I also added a pound of cubed ham (one of those packs you can buy that is pre-cut). Oh it was SO good. It makes a ton, but I'm happy to have a yummy soup to eat this week! Yeay!

Andrew Update...

Morgan and I went to the doctor yesterday... Here's an update...

HE'S A BIG BABY!

He already weighs 6lb. 3oz. ... Just a reminder.... I'm only 34 weeks! I have 6 weeks left, and he'll probably gain 3 or more pounds if I go up to my due date (Oct 15)!

The ultrasound said that he was measuring 2 weeks ahead, so he could be fully cooked by Oct 2.... so we'll see what happens. The doctor told us that his feet are 2 3/4 inches long. He also has long legs and a big head. Hopefully he doesn't get too big!

1. Where did you meet? In a hot tub in Provo, Utah. Scandalous.
2. How long did you date before you were married? We dated for about a year and a half before we tied the knot.
3. How long have you been married? 3 years this December
4. What does he do that surprises you? Hmm... I'm not sure....
5. What is your favorite feature about him? Physically... his eyes and his smile... and the dimples he gets when he laughs.
6. What is your favorite quality about him? His thirst for knowledge. I think he would love to be in college forever.
7. Does he have a nickname for you? What is it? He calls me Emmy or hunny. Since being preggo.... he calls me mama on occasion.
8. What is his favorite color? Red.
9. What is his favorite food? Cheese burgers and beans & hot dogs.
10. What is his favorite sport? Um, whatever is in season... He follows the Red Sox, Boston Celtics, Duke Basketball, and BYU football and basketball.
11. Who said 'I love you' first? I honestly don't remember. Probably me.
12. When and where was your first kiss? Back in October of 2004. At Sparks Apartments... we were watching October Sky.... :-)
13. What are your favorite things to do as a couple? Honestly, probably just sit around and talk to each other. I love pillow talk.
14. Do you have kids? How many? We have a little boy, Andrew, on the way!!
15. What's a hidden talent he has? He is very athletic. I think that it surprises people at times.
16. How old is he? 26.... he'll be 27 in February.
17. What is his favorite type of music? Anything Chill. He really likes Dave Matthews. He also has a great love and amazing knowledge of 80's music. He LOVES 80's music.
18. What do you admire most about him? I really think it's his thirst for knowledge. He loves to read and learn everything he can. I love that.
19. What are his favorite pastimes? Napping, Reading, Sports, and Spending time with me!! ;-)
