"Wintering"

Would you believe me if I said that we turned the heat off two weeks ago and are now enjoying having our windows open?? Gotta love Southern Winters. Now, we have had a good bit of cold weather - but it's long gone. Enter: Sunshine, warm weather, and long days outside.

(I put this photo in just for my dad - in this pic Andrew
is a spitting image of my dad at that age)

Hooray for not having to wear coats to go outside! Well, I better go, 73 degrees and sun are calling my name :-).

Happy 29th, Morgan!

Yesterday was Morgan's 29th birthday. Sadly he spend the bulk of his day at school. I thought that I'd do something a little different this year. Last year on his birthday I shared 28 fun facts about him on our blog. Go HERE to see the post. You'll learn a lot! Morgan's not a mushy guy - but I can sneak in gushy things here and there. When he woke up he was greeted with 29 post it notes around the apartment, each with a reason why I'm crazy in love with him. Some were pretty funny might I add. He quite enjoyed going from one to the next.  My sweet little sister also posted a nice Birthday post for him on her BLOG.... (PS, if you want a good laugh, follow her blog - she's living in China and puts up some great posts!)

Once he got home (to a CLEAN house) the celebrations started.

Lemon Cupcakes....

His FAVORITE meal.... Beans and Hotdogs. I was impressed when Morgan requested the Red Plate (the You are Special Today Plate). Whoo Hoo! He's becoming sentimental! ;-)

The traditional Happy Birthday Pic. Notice - Andrew's not too happy he was still in his booster seat...

Conducting the one person choir singing Happy Birthday (while taking photos, talk about multitasking!)

Blow those candles out!

The cupcakes were GREAT! Andrew was pretty fond of them too (since he ended up eating TWO... I need to remember that he's tall enough to get things off the counter now...)

I gave Morgan a workout shirt and an AirJimmer shirt (which sadly is still coming in the mail) He's pretty excited to get it.

All in all, great birthday. Quiet, simple, at home - just the way this Maine Man likes them.

So, next year is the Big 3-0. I've got to think of something great to do for him. I'm suggesting that we write down '30 things to do before 30.' That would be fun, don't you think??

Valentines Recap

We had a very nice Valentines Day in the Stinson home. Since Morgan had to be out the door by 7:30 - I decided to be a sweet wife and made homemade blueberry muffins, along with some other breakfast foods. The Cupid delivered some treats (forgot to take pictures, but oh well!) Once Morgan was off Andrew and I started planning our secret surprise for Morgan.

I pulled out some watercolors. It was Andrew's first time using them - every stroke of the brush he'd exclaim, "I did it!" I'm so glad he enjoyed it so much. After we were done - it was getting close to lunch so we rushed out the door to surprise Morgan.

I called a classmate of Morgan's to help us get down to his office. I had just Andrew walk in to surprise him. We did a good job. We brought Morgan a milkshake (since he would be at school until almost 9 that night.) As you see in the picture, Mickey and Minnie also made an appearance. They are pretty much attached to Andrew 24/7 now.

We got home and delivered some sugar cookies to some of our neighbors, then went home to enjoy the mid-60 degree weather. One of the reasons why I love the south.

I had to include this pic - Andrew's sitting on a bunny statue thingy. My mom always had a bunny statue somewhere outside and I remember sitting on it too. It must be genetic or something....

LOVE this pic! What a sweet Valentine! Even though Morgan was gone, it was still a nice day. I'm so lucky to have two Valentines.

How many licks...

... does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? (for this case... a dum dum)

 Andrew may never know!

You'll never forget your first...

... Oreo.

(I love how he got an oreo beard instead of a milk mustache)
