Naptime Crafting

I've been enjoying Andrew's naps lately. We are FINALLY over the transition to one nap! (it was only oh, 3 months long!) I'm loving these long naps after lunch!! So, since I find myself with a chunk of child free time in the middle of the day I've been crafting and sewing and such a lot more. I'm loving it!

I have a few projects in the works, but here's a quick one (maybe 10 minutes) I did today. There aren't too many cutesy things you can make for little boys. I wanted him to have a cute Easter shirt for this weekend, and this is what I came up with. It looks boy-ish enough that he'll be able wear it this year and next year. (I hope)

Ingredients: Left over brown fabric, heat n' bond,
shirt from Walmart, and an Easter Cookie cutter
:-)

I have also bought a few patterns lately (there have been GREAT sales for them!). A skirt, dress, coat and hat for Andrew and some other fun things. Here's one that I'm about to start on. I've wanted a bag like this for about 3 years (seriously). I saw the pattern and knew I had to have it, and for $1.49, it was mine. I bought some cute fabric for it... with those lovely 40% off coupons - can't wait!I'll be making the one on the bottom right. Yay!

Love it!

Fun in the Sun

Get out of the way mom! I'm steering my ship!

Weather here in Georgia has been GREAT lately! Mid-60's to the low-70's speak right to me! Andrew has really enjoyed getting outside for longer periods of time. We had all the windows open today - nothing better than nice fresh air in your home! Gotta love Spring Time!!

Where my Peeps at? :-)

I saw this cute little Easter decoration on another blog, and I HAD to make one. So, thanks to Andrew's nap yesterday, here they are! (the best thing, I already had all the materials needed, so it was a free craft! Yay!)

Mr. Sick-o

Poor little Andrew came down with RSV last weekend. We went to the doctor to also find out that he was wheezing along with it. We had to do some nebulizer treatments to help out with that. This week he's been on the mend, and happy to say he's back to being 100% Andrew (and everything that entails). Although it was sad to see him sick, we loved having him snuggle with us and even fall asleep on us! (which he NEVER does)

Here are a few pics of our little buddy...

Also - bummer! We were 90% done with the bottle before this week..... sadly that got thrown out the window...

Busy Boy Andrew!!

Well - I knew I'd eventually pay for the fact that I had such an EASY baby. That day has come! Here are a few things that Andrew's done to keep me, Morgan, and my parents on their toes. (note: all of these have happened in the last 20 days)

- Called 911 (we have no clue how) They sent out rescue squads, emergency crews, a firetruck, police... the whole nine yards. (they sent out so many because all they heard on the phone was moaning....aka part of Andrew's "language")

- Drank/spilled more than half of a bottle of baby shampoo onto our carpet. Which led me to call poison control for the first time. (did I mention the day before he was trying to suck on my Oil of Olay face lotion?) (Kudos for Emily for remembering the number after learning it 10+ years ago in babysitting training!)

- Broke Morgan's LCD monitor on his laptop. (Thankfully we found the replacement part for 200 dollars less than what we were first quoted)

- Learned to climb on EVERYTHING. Including side tables, kitchen tables, kitchen chairs.... you name it - he can climb it.

- Gets into EVERYTHING. Anything with buttons or looks interesting - he's into it. Thank goodness for baby proofing.

Not to mention - he's only going on 18 months old. What am I going to do when he turns 2?

I'm thinking about getting him a straight jacket.

(Even though he gets into everything... he's a sweetie. He has a great disposition and doesn't really "act" out. We hardly ever have to take him out of church and have never really had any melt downs... in public or private. He's just extremely inquisitive..... and busy!)
