Goodbye Summer!!

Last Saturday we had one last day of Summer (even though it was the first day of Autumn). We went to the local lake and enjoyed a lovely and lazy afternoon. Fun was had by all.

Andrew has become quite the little fish this summer. He's able to swim short distances without his float. Pretty great for a three year old.

What is it with babies and sand? She insisted on snacking on the sand until mean mommy picked her up washed her off.

I love this girl!

Man oh man. Am I in love with little Nora! Here are some photos I snapped recently. Man, love her!

Everyday after her nap, this is what greets me as I enter her room.

Look at those eyes!

Even when she's pouting, she's a doll.

Oh dear. Beautiful baby! I love my little Nora Jean!

Happenings. Instagram Style

I cannot believe how MIA I've been lately on this blog. Having two kids definitely keeps me a good bit busier to say the least. Anyways, here's a little glimpse into what we've been up to.

Enjoying a late afternoon at the park while daddy's at school/work.

Cousin time! These two boys have so much fun together.

BEAUTIFUL days at the park (look at those clouds!)

At "Andrew's Park", the park we have a picnic lunch at atleast 2 or 3 days a week there is the perfect spot for us. It's up on the structure, covered, and it's big enough to allow Nora to scoot around. Since we usually have the park to ourselves, we sit up there often.
Look who's getting close to crawling!

Stopping by the pet shop after a fabric store visit. (It's next door, and it's a must).

Giving Lucy (my parent's dog) some love.

Where's Nora? This scooting business gets her in trouble some time!

I was surprised to see UGA poptarts at the grocery store. I gave into my inner child and enjoyed some for breakfast. When in Rome Athens.

Yay! I have my grandma's old serger and I am LOVING it!

Last swimming/lake trip on the first day of fall. The water was great and Nora loved the sand!

This boy is all about hop scotch these days!

Snoozing at the park. Playing is hard work!

I Visit teach a friend who's son is just a few weeks younger than Nora. I took Nora with me on this last visit and the two of them had SO much fun together. We'll definitely have to get them together for a play date soon.

My walking/jogging buddy. She always keeps a perfect pace!

First day of Preschool!!

Andrew started Preschool today! There's a great little Methodist preschool just across the street from were we live... so close that I see it from our Mailboxes.

Andrew did great! We've been talking about it for weeks. Every time we drove by it (which is nearly every day) I'd point it out. He was at my sister's house a little bit ago and saw Mikayla, his cousin, get off the school bus... Rachel talked up school big time to him too. We've talked all about the fun things that go on in school and how all of his cousins are in school too. This morning when Andrew woke up and came downstairs I asked him what he was going to do today... and with a smile he said "Go to school!"

Started off the morning with a hot breakfast on the ever coveted "You are Special Today" Red plate!

The obligatory picture of the excited little student.

Poetic? Andrew's first year of school... Morgan's last year of school.

His ADORABLE bag that my friend embroidered!

The happy face we left at school!

So what did I do after I dropped him off? I went home, promptly put Nora down for her morning nap and enjoyed one hour of quiet wrapped up in a good book! My visiting teachers came as well. Not that Andrew is a hand full at all (he is such a joy!) It was such a nice treat having just Nora at home!

When I picked him up, the teachers said he did great! When I asked him what he did, he quickly said that they sang songs, painted, ate a snack, and played with toys. I asked him if he wanted to go back, and he excitedly said "YES!" Success!

It's crazy how quickly he's growing up! Slow down, Andrew!

Shadows.

Andrew has recently become interested in hand shadows. I don't know if Morgan taught him or what, but out of thin air the other day he did a "Donald Duck" followed by a butterfly... I was impressed! So tonight while I was putting him in bed, I thought it'd be fun to do some hand shadows.

Andrew's rendition of Donald...

Me and my lover boy!

I love that kid!

*Post Edit: Just asked Morgan, he definitely did not teach him. Who knows where he learned it! (He does have quite a fondness for flashlights... thanks Uncle Dan!)
